I have fitted the EGR blank to my TD4 and now get a loud sighing noise every time I switch off the engine:eek:. I guess it's the pressure in the inlet system:rolleyes:.
Does anyone else get this:confused:
Should it make the noise:confused:
If not how do I correct it:confused: (don't say put the EGR valve back on:D)
Cheers:cool:

I got the same after I cleaned my egr valve and blocked the vacuum pipe to prevent it's operation.
It sounded like it was the egr modulator trying to pull on the egr diaphragm.
Since I was retaining the egr valve I decided to follow a tip from TDJohn to block off the exhaust connection with some metal cut from a tin can, then I was able to reconnect the vacuum hose to the diaphragm and the noise stopped.
I'm not sure if removing the modulator or disconnecting it electrically will generate a fault code.
Try disconnecting the egr modulator vacuum pipe from where it tees off from the main vacuum hose between the vacuum pump and brake servo, remembering to plug the tee to prevent loss of vac for the servo!

did you fit a gasket ?

Can't find it now but seem to remember someone having this problem and posting a link to a recording they had made of the noise.

If anyone can find it maybe it will include a solution.

Did the EGR mod to my 2006 TD4 today. Blanked off the vacuum hose and made sure all the fitting/gaskets were clean and tight. No dash lights or odd noises, seems I was lucky. Certainly the hippo accelerates more cleanly from a standing start now, with tuning chip and MAF compensator fitted too I'm running out of tinkering options...............
