Got a problem with my sidelights which i am a bit stuck with and desperately need some help with. the n/s front and rear sidelights are both out. I have checked the fuse which is fine. Is there a relay or something on each side which could fail and knock out both lights in one go or am i barking up the wrong tree?

are you sure you checked the correct fuse? It could be a broken wire.

They share a common earth, behind the cover at the rear corner of the tub on the nearside. That could be dirty / corroded / broken.

my nearside lights kept blowing fuses a couple of years back. The wires were rubbing through under the plastic flap inside the rear wheel arch just prior to the wires going through the rear tub.

couple of posts back mentions dash light. that is on so fuse defo ok. i'll check what you guys have suggested and relay back with results this weekend with any luck

Checked earth and all was fine there but some T**T had put the old scotchy connector on the wire in the rear tub to feed somethig else (not sure what yet) and the connection was as you may guess crap and intermitently failing. Removed it and all appears well, at the moment.........:)
