Side vents

Hi Al, I've recently bought a 2008 freelander 2 se in black.
I have taken the side vents off to paint them black, so took the passenger side off first, painted and replaced & all OK.
But when I did the drivers side and re fitted it the car won't lock. All it does is make a sound like the door is still open but won't lock any door.

Are all the doors shut properly? Including the bonnet

Yes all shut but I've just noticed that when I press the lock/unlock button on my fob that it bakes a beep but not one of the indicators flash

Might want to repost this in the freelander section, someone who knows about freelanders will more likely see it and help.
Do you have a spare key? if so, see if that works to cancel out key problems
