I don't know if anyone is interested in having my old side steps (the originals) you cant seem to get them anymore, you will need to weld some bar to get it right again, its rotted away, I will get a few pics soon

The rubber covering is fine on both of them, just taking the drivers side off now, will take some more pics of it when its off so you know how good bad it is

The divers side isn't much better, but the rubbers are fine, you can get them off and replace them with yours if they are bad, but its all doable, If I had a workshop I would do it, and a welder

@Dopey i would be interested as my wife could do with steps to help her get in i can weld um up.

As long as you realise they do need fixing up, that's why I changed them for new, but your more than welcome to come pick them up, I have kept all the bits, just say when you want to pick them up, you know where I am and your welcome to them

They look like they have plenty of life left. Cheaper to change if you don't have a welder, easy to reinforce if you do

He will devour your custard creams though :)[/QUOTE
Brian has taken them now, he came round yesterday, I did see someone on here make a pair out of stainless and he used the old rubber covers, they did look good, the rubbers on mine are 100% that's why I just didn't want to throw them away, you just cant seem to get the originals any more

Side steps ruin the bodywork lines, a £5.00 folding step off fleabay does exactly the same job. But you don't have to leave it hanging out of the window on a string, if you don't want to spoil the looks of the car. .

Grounded out? The roads in Bucks must be really shit. :D:D

They are!

Couple of times in the woods the "puddle" turned out to be somewhat deceptive. They've had those big forestry machines up there in the wet and they've got massive wheels that have made some ruts into chasms. Once it is cocked with a rear wheel in the air you're pretty much digging for gold with the front.

That's why I have instas on the front, saves needing a winch. Can drop pressures with 32"s so won't dig but probably won't help much with road wheels

You can get the sliders without steps so doesn't intrude on the look of the vehicle like rubber banannas. They arent much cheaper though.
I don't like the ones plastic'd up with arches and chrome stripes either. Ones without don't rot
