Got strange thing with my front sidelights! When just sidelights are switched on it’s the front indicators that light up,indicators work ok, switch on headlights and indicators now go out but work ok as indicators. Dash pixels are the next job but I can read that check sidelights does come up! Any ideas would be most helpful . I’ve not had the vehicle that long and just working through a rather large list of things to get done!

I think if its like the P38 you can change the options with a Nanocom or similar.

Check your sidelight bulbs and connections.
Some versions (and this also applies to Bimmers - basically the same system), but if a bulb goes out, it will illuminate another similar bulb to act as a failsafe.....
My very old E36 does this - if a tail light is out it will illuminate one of the other bulbs (cant remember which - brake or indicator) to act as a safety so other motorists can see your 'position'....
So, check and change your sidelight bulbs and see what results you get.

Bad earth connection.
A quick update on the problem.
I fitted a new sidelight as the original had broken clips and was dangling loose. New fitting arrived today so checked the other bulbs as I went, both original bulbs had gone so as Saint.v8 had said it had went into the mode of using the indicators instead. Everyday is a school day
