I've developed a shudder on take off and it seems to be getting worse. The engine and gearbox mounts look to be ok and the noise is coming from the back axle area. Hard to get a smooth start when setting off.
Please tell me it isn't that big thing that locates the back axle.

is it when you're letting the clutch out then ok when fully out?
might be oil on the clutch plates, ie clutch bite, slip, bite, slip till engaged

Could be but knocking from back end when it's shuddering .
It started after a long towing job and went worse after a towing job yesterday.
clutch seems ok, if you slip it a bit when setting off everything fine.

could be a-frame ball joint or suspension bushes -give 'em a wiggle with a pry bar to check

Right,
I'mm thinkin A frame ball joint as the knocking seems to be coming from that area and towing a Disco on a trailer for 300 miles may have something to do with it. Had a load of flags on a trailer yesterday and it was worse after so I'll get a bar on it over the weekend. Just cant be arsed crawling under it at the mo.:)

tis a job for a sunny sunday afternoon.
take a pillow an see how long before someone discovers you're havin a nap underneath;):D
