Should I buy one or not? If so, which one?

Hi there. I have always been a landy fan and currently own 4 series III vehicles.

I have recently bought a new RIB boat and don't much fancy driving 40 mile journeys in my SIII county with it on the back, nor do I think my great wee focus TDCi would be up to the job of pulling it up a slimey slipway!

This has led me to think about selling the focus and changing it for a freelander.

I THINK what I want is a TD4 HSE 5dr manual, but I am open to a sport premium.

I have driven both vehicles mentioned above and I found the sport premium to be quite a crashy ride as opposed to the HSE?

Which is the better vehicle overall (I love my focus's great handling) and if I buy one, should I be worried about reliability, rear drum brakes, cheap plastics, rover parts bin rummaging ( u can see what I worry about) ???

Are they good on fule (mpg) ?

Thanks for all the advance help

Alan

Hi Yella. . . .the td4 is a great motor un will handle the slip ways no problem. . . .not a fan of the sports myself but its horses fer courses ,some love em. . . .should get bout 32- 38 mpg dunt dismiss the auto box as that is fantastic, good m/way motor wiff car handling its not a scream round corner type motor though, very good orft road the best in its class, but its not a defender type standard. . . .but it aint far off. . . .:)
