Should he have been given them

A friend bought an 05 l322 last week minus the side steps which the seller had. Seemingly the seller said they bought a few months ago but never put them on, my friend thinks he should have got them when buying the car but the seller said he'll sell him them or sell them elsewhere.

I think he should have been given them or is that not the case.
 
Real, why did you think it's not, i guess he'll buying them from him if he wants them.

These things were fitted to my Classic when I bought it 13 years ago & I'm a stickler for originality wherever practical, so off they came.
'Ere indoors wasn't impressed as she is only 5' 2'' so I pointed out the 2 grab handles for the front passenger. She manages quite well now, though her exit strategy is always worth watching :)

Why do you think he should have been 'given' them?
The seller bought them. Why should he give them away? They're not standard, they weren't on the vehicle and agreed in price. If your chum wants them, he could make the seller an offer.

My missus slides out, I could lower the car but where's the fun in that :)
