hi all recently purchased a range rover vouge 2006 with the harmon kardon logic 7 system. had it for about 6 weeks now well yesterday driving to work and as you all have probably read several posts like this my audio wants to die. phoned all the local audio guys around my area and no one wants to touch it due to the fibre optic system which was somthing new i learnt. so come to the conclusion on diagnosing this my self and you guys guessed it i dont have a fxxxxxg clue read a few places about how the fibre optic light works tried the over riding trick for the nokia hands free and it all works for around 16 seconds then just black out HELP PLEASE !!!!!!!!!

The fibre optic system only connects the individual units
I have no idea what stereo you have fitted to your vehicle, perhaps a foto may assist.
Try removing your stereo, pulling the MOST (fibre optic cable usually orange) and with the ignition on see if there is a red light shining thru the cables.
Next try the most cable at the amp and so on, again I dont know what else you have fitted SAT nav is usually on the MOST loop

not sure how to and also was told the amp was changed just before i brought it but yes still could be the amp i supose
ok i will strip it out and see whats going on i did check in the boot left had side and like i posted area tried the hands free bypass which worked for around 16 seconds then everything powered down. i seems like the red light thats shines from the MOST only stays on for a little while then powers down and no red light then so im guessing thats stops the comunication.

loose cable maybe then if recently replaced or may just need cleaning?

ok watched the video and the problem i have is that no matter what module i put the fibre optic cable in. it wont pass on the light to the next module like shown in the video? surely they cant all be snookered ? i used the loop tool just to comfirm that it was not the fibre optic cable its self and it passes thre light to the next plug on the loom fine ?

Sheesh, sorry for your troubles matey, that must be really frustrating.
If things are that complex and fragile I am glad my old P38 doesn't have it (it's got enough problems of its own anyway).

haha very frustrating for me yes. im now thinking i shoud of gone for the defender 90 than this i know this is a nice car but to many electrics and this fibre optic audio system what the hell haha what happened to the gd old left/ right audio cable
