Hi, I've got a bit of a problem with a freelander !, that I hope someone may be able to shed some light upon. It's the brake-lights; there's a short circuit with continuity across the supply wire for the brakes, the tail-light, and the earth. I have searched, to no avail, and made sure nothing had penetrated the harness; nothing to be found.
As it was only blowing the passenger side bulb, I cut it out and taped it up; worry about it later, kind of thing. But then the thing started running rough, and maybe completely unconnected, I get a P1602 reading from the ECU. This is a power fault, and I have concluded that the short may be delivering voltage along the earth.

Does anyone know if the switches, or junctions, or something, anything, common to these cars, may be at fault? Please don't mention a faulty ECU; do try to avoid saying that.
