Yes, it came with two screw-in threads and one of them was the right size, it took less than 5 minutes to replace it. It actually cost £6.50 give or take a few pence. There is an area locally where my radio struggles to get a good Radio 2 signal, the new arial has improved the reception significantly but is still not perfect.No, fixed position unfortunately.

Yes Nodge, that's why I asked the op about the pivot, my arial is pivoting type but no matter how much (non destructive) force I apply, I can't get the bugger to change its angle.It's not an OE then. The OE aerial has a pivot, so it can be laid flat to the roof if needed, like when off road, or having luggage on the roof.
You can fit a short aerial, as long as you fit the base to go with it. I've got a short one on my SE.
That's correct. The nav base is fixed.Mine has the becker sat nav. I don't believe those ones are moveable?
