HI all, just recently every time i get out of my disco it gives me one hell of a static shock! b***ard! does anyone know what causes this?? what can i do stop it?

Also my head lights/dash lights/interior lights are all dimming and then brightening repetedly quite quickly!!(pulsing) on tick over and when driving, is this my battery or alternator or both???
cheers,
jimbo

Last time I was in wantage, shell suits were still the rage. Just a thought! I had a similar problem with my Vectra and it was the earth point for the alternator. Never occured that it was on an ally bracket lol.

Smalls? Oh well we all have our problems I s'pose - mine r huges.
Seriously I think it could be an earth problem - have had the same problem on a mondeo n couldnt find a cure. If u do, let me know cus would really like to know. Sorry couldnt be of more help....
Going back to what I was saying tho - clothes really can generate static - believe it or not thousands of volts. Got my stockings back on now btw cus I got leather seats.

i used to have this problem with my old escort van and i understand the B*STARD thing hehehhee. i got a static strip and never had it happen again.
it turned out it was my electric personality that was the problem !
:hysterically_laughi

They are huges but im so damn big that the biggest is still too small!!

could the static be todo with the alternator?

arent shell suits still in fashion??? i do like to wear my dayglo pink one!!

wheres my banana??

Mind, I can talk. The average age down here is 72, so brown nylon trousers and yellow shirts are 'normal attire'

Your dayglo pink shell suit, doesn't have some aqua marine blue sections on it does it? God, I remember them lol.
