I have searched long and hard but nothing really hit the nail on the head so to speak.

I'm changing the shocks and springs on my Classic and would love you Classic guys and girls to give me your opinions on what set up you have and how it rides.

I'm deffo going with standard springs front and back. I can get delphi de carbon gas shocks at trade price so that makes them affordable, boge and armstrong are cheap anyway. The Terrafirma standard shock is also something I'm considering. The konis and bilsteins scare me, not just because of the price:D but I read a lot of reviews that suggest they ride just too hard. The delphis are jumping out at the moment because what few reviews I can find seem to suggest they provide all the advantages of a gas shock whilst still providing good comfort levels. I'm prepaired to be shot down if anybody on here knows different.

I'm more of a soft and wallowy kind of guy than a firm and sporty so most comfort is what I'm after.

As always your opinions are gratefully received.

I have just gone for genuine rears and Boge fronts with allmakes 4x4 OEM spec springs on the 72 rrc , the shocks were about £23 a corner and spings were £16 I think, good value I reckon and I like the standard ride, I wont be changing it from spen kings design, he knew what he was doing even if the assembly line didnt! :)

I have been running the same springs on my 1990 rrc for about 6 months and I like them alot!

I've got police spec spings and standard terrafirma shocks.

Rides very well, bit firmer than it was before, but thats partly down the the old shocks and springs being shagged.

I like it!!!!!!!!

Its been a long time since I fitted new springs to a motor and I'm assuming standard new springs will raise my Classic by an inch or 2 compared to shagged out old ones anyway. All makes do a kit comprising 4x Terrafirma springs and standard shocks, the springs are light load fronts and medium load rears which I like the sound of. The only trouble is they give a 2inch lift. I could live with 2inches but if they lift by 3 or 4 inches because my saggy old springs were down by an inch or 2, I'm not sure I'd like the look of that. Is my logic correct on this?

yes , and so was spen king - dont mess :p

I hear what your saying fett. But I went all OEM on my P38 shocks so fancy trying something a bit different with the Classic. A black Classic with a 4inch lift and a stainless exhaust, all I need is some blacked out windows and I'd be a proper Dude:D
