I know this has been discussed in the past but often when NG'ers find a
solution their post, they don't always come back and say what the
solution was.

The car:
Freelander L series XEDi (2000 on W) 5 door.

The problem:
Vibrates when travelling between 28 and 33 mph. Outside of this it's
not felt. But that doesn't mean its not there of course. It's like the
thing is shaking sideways. I've rested my hand on the handbrake at
speed and there is nothing (apparently how dealers check for worn prop
bearings). The front tyres are considerably more worn than the rears.

Anybody experienced this before and solved it?

Warning to all you Discovery owners. Don't do as I did and trade in
your 300tdi for a Freelander. Regret, regret, regret.........

Just on the offchance get a pal to walk behind and drive slowly, he's
watching the sidewalls of the tyres for eccentricity ( or you could jack her
up and spin the wheel but that may not show due to the lack of loading )
it's a problem I had in a Toyota Tercel 4wd some years ago one tyre was a
little off but it was only noticable at lowish speed around 20mph
