I am still toying with the idea of uprating the brakes on the series. Got a spanking new servo and master but can't for the life of me find a servo pedal box for a series landrover anywhere. I have got several old defender ones kicking about so my question is this can a defender pedal box be converted in a sensible way to take a series servo, or failing that has anybody got one they could sell me - or swap for some defender ones?

I've seen late Defender brake and clutch pedals fitted to a Stage 1 V8- other series vehicles should be similar. Obviously you need a non-ABS pedal and servo. With the larger servo you need to cut a notch out of the driver's side front wing to clear it, but there is just enough material for this to be hidden by the bonnet. With the late Defender pedal box the brake switches are in the footwell so the wiring will need extending to suit. You may need to modify the brake lines. Earlier Defender pedals should be similar enough to work in the same way.

I want to use the series 3 Single line master cylinder though which is set for the right sized drums, the problem is really mating that to the servo because the bolt holes only seem to line up with a series servo and not a defender one of any type that I have got..and the series servo doesn’t,t fit a def pedal box.

Yes 100 quid for that is taking the michael. I could get a remote servo as suggested for a lot less than that and it would work!
