I need some help!

I have a 2006 Range Rover, the last model before the V8, and as the warranty is no longer an issue I would like to service her myself. To be honest I'm not that happy with the way it has been done by the dealer to date, so I'll do it myself now!

What are the "must do's" and the "would be better to do's", and is there anyway of re-setting the service counter on the dash??

Get a copy of Rave. Look up the service schedules and follow them.
 
yes goonarmy, before the tdv8, i forgot there was another V8 :p

have had a look at the rave downloads, but would anyone have any idea which is relevant to the Range Rover? I'm not even sure what the model type is :eek:

Any thoughts on reseting the service counter, or do I just ignore it?

If it's 2006 it's L322, on Green Oval that is disc 2 i believe. The FCR from BBS may do that for you not sure.

The green oval disc 2 only goes upto the 2003 L322 model year for the 2006 model you will need a subscription to Topix, the Land Rover technical website. It still will be useful for you to have the 2003 workshop manual as alot of the systems on the 2006 are from the original BMW 2003 model. But for the 2006 engine/transmission service/workshop manual you will need the one from Topix.

BOLLOX.......I'm screwed then I take it. :eek:

I'm guessing it would'nt justify a subscription to Topix just to service my own vehicle, anyway of getting the basic info or requirements?

eg Oil filter, Fuel Filter/s etc etc?? :confused:

Basic servicing is the same for every vehicle if you get the rave for a 2003 L322 it will not be a lot different to yours. You should have oil types, capacities etc in your hand book.
 
I believe that you can re-set the service indicator yourself using a PC based program and diagnostics cable. I will look into this myself at some point as I am interested in doing my own fault code checking but I am afraid that I don't have an example of this yet. You can find the cable and software by searching the forums. The only thing you can't do this way is to control or reset the EAS and Air Bag systems.

You can get a 1 day subscription for £10 then just download all the documents you want from the site for future reference.
