I didn't know that! 8 years is a long time to be fitting a superseded engine, I would have thought. I wonder why African customers got the choice and we didn't?Ah, all is becoming clear. An African defender buyer could choose between a 300tdi or a td5 for about 8 years after we lost the 300tdi.

I agree. Cam belt first job without a doubt.Without service history, cam belt is the first consideration, then the rest can be done as you drive, assuming levels are checked.
