Hello all.

On Monday I will be picking up my first Freelander and was looking for some advice.

It's a 2004 1.8 HSE with 38K on clock.

It's due a service and mot prior to collection and was wanting to check what service that should be.

Don't want to let the stealer rip me off with the wrong service.

Thanks in advance.

this car is very prone to head gasket failure.take someone with you who knows what they are about on this particular vehicle.i cannot stress enough about the problems associated with this engine.if you can do not pick up the car until you can have it checked out.

the scheduled service should be completed as per service sheet at 72 months or 72k mls whichever comes first so yes plugs, brake fluid and coolant change.

Thanks for the info.

Should I push for the spark plugs and cam belt to be replaced as they would be due on this service if average mileage had been done?

Yu cud try pushing for a TD4.
nothing wrong with a K series injun,Gemsdad.

slightly better than cheese - and slightly less than a clockwork orange ;).
