Hi all,
Recently bought myself a series III which looks as though it need a bit of tidying up. I plan to take care of the interior, and it has all the signs of a well used series. Ripped seats, flaky paint on pedals, and levers, grubby dashboard, wiring all over the shop and rust etc.

I hope that a bit of scrubbing on the dashboard, and some satin black hammerite will sort out the levers and pedals etc. (I understand it's not supposed to look nice, but I'd like it to look presentable).
With regards to the floor I plan to get some sound deadening stuff and use that to tidy up the floor as well as cut out the sound.

However, I have owned a couple of classic minis, and there is a load of spares suppliers which stock everything from the mechanical bits and bobs to loads of bolt on extras, and a ****load of interior accessorys and almost anything, you can get a spare of.
With series landys though, there doesn't seem to be any such suppliers. Theres lots of suppliers which supply all the mechanical stuff, but not things like, gear knobs, dashboards & binnacles, etc.

Not a major woe and I dont want the series to look done up or anything, just as close as I can get it to look as it did when it came out the factory as my budget can afford!

So do these sorts of spares outlets exist, or is it just a case of breakers yards and ebay?

most part suppliers get parts from britpart ,bearmach and allmakes they are main wholesalers so most will sell same parts as each other there aint a lot of independant producers ,there are a few heritage suppliers who sell old stock parts in greater range but dearer prices ,ebay comes from same places

I get all my parts from Paddock Spares, LRSeries, MM4x4 and eBay :) Between all them, you should be able to get your hands on what you need.

Just had a bit more of a google, and found LRSeries. Looks more like I had imagined, so probably my lack of looking hard enough, more than anything else.
Exmoor trim sound deadening doesn't come cheap though does it! Are there any other decent sound deadening kits you can buy for under £100? (As opposed to buying sheets of it, and cutting your own to size). Are they even worth having? I'd like to be able to hear a radio over the engine at cruising motorway speed, (50mph approx), but not sure if sound deadening mat will even make that much difference.

I persoanlly do not rate sound deading too much...well not for my purpose anyway. Becasue at some point, it will get wet and it wll trap the water there, not good in my books. We had some fitted to a Series 2 a few years ago and it did make a bit of difference to the noise...but then again sound comes in from every other angle as well!

I have fitted a pair of thick fitted rubber mats and glued carpet to the roof - that seems to dampen then noise very slightly (perhaps its phycological!) I can hear the stereo at motorway speeds no problem...a half decent set of speakers and it's all good :) and you can do more than 50 or something is wrong with it!

Thinking about getting a set of canvas seats from these guys, I did a search here and people seem well happy with there seats.....BUT.....I did buy a sound deadening gearbox tunnel mat thingy off them and not really impressed, doesn't fit well and in places the trim is.....or rather was.....just stuck and not stitched.

Can't afford the seats at the moment anyway but its got me wondering

Why don't you get a recover kit for your seats and redo yourself? Thats all they do with the trade in seats. and then they resell them.:D

Tried all sorts on my 2 and everything helps a little but the one thing I've done that makes more difference than anything else is under the bonnet.

have a foam rubber type cover on the top of the engine on one and the other is lined on the underside of the bonnet with the normal vinyl felt backed stuff. It really does help and the faster you're going the more difference it makes.

If I ever get round to getting some proper expensive stuff, thats where I'll stick it

Have thought about it but its not just the covers.....missing some big bits of foam as well

Do like the idea of canvas........seems to be the ideal Landy seat material to my mind :)

A complete recover kit is out there some where, It comes with new foam, hog nose ring (fasteners for material to frame) A complete kit with instructions. Saw it some where when looking for parts for a re build. Just doing a good search for all parts to see how much of a rebuild I want to do!:D
