Hi

Is there anyone in the Lanarkshire area with a nice Series 1, 2 or 3 Land Rover?

I am looking for a Series Land Rover to photograph for a 360 degree spherical panorama.

The type of photographs that I take can be seen here:- http://www.elevation360.co.uk

The vehicle has to be original spec and unmodified as I am looking to photograph inside and outside of the vehicle.

There is no money involved but the vehicle owners will be supplied with a set of photos and a CD featuring the 360 degree shots.

I have already tried advertising locally, on other internet forums and have also contacted the Series 1, 2 3 Owners Clubs, but without success.

Must surely be someone who has a decent original spec Land Rover?

Cheers

I've just bought one - it's totally original, series 3, LWB, grey and limestone, 10 seater hardtop. But I'm in East Lothian and it's untaxed.

it's been cleaned up since this photo

Hi

Thanks for the offer but that's not really what I'm looking for!

Unfortunately, it's far from being totally original! The windows in the rear side panels certainly aren't original!

I may not have been clear enough in the original post - I'm looking for Series vehicles that are original spec and have been restored to a high standard!

I can get access to plenty of Series Land Rovers and I've got an old tatty Series 2A myself but I'm looking for something that would be winning prizes at the LR shows and is in pristine condition.

Billy, maybe if you'd actually asked for something "restored to a high standard" I wouldn't have BOTHERD YOU but you were asking for help and we like to help people on this forum.

As for originality, actually these rear windows ARE completely original and have all the original bracing behind them. Looking at an ORIGINAL brochure from 1980, theres even a picture of one with these self same ORIGINAL windows. My landy is actually astonishingly original and untouched from its specification from new.

Maybe taking that sort of attitude it's not surprising you've not had any help so far!

Oh dear, this is just the sort of childish reaction that demonstrates why I don't usually bother to post in forums!

I didn't say, "forget it I can see scrappers like that in my own street everyday", my reply was, "Thanks for the offer but that's not really what I'm looking for!" so forgive me if I fail to see where the "attitude" is?

Obviously I've made a simple mistake about the windows but there's no need to go in a huff, get all aggresive, start typing in CAPITALS and start accusing me of having "attitude" just because I wasn't interested in your old motor.

While I wasn't too specific and didn't ask for something "restored to a high standard", I did however state in the original post that I was looking for a "nice" Series 1, 2 or 3 Land Rover which would suggest that I didn't just want any old Land Rover.

Everyone else reading the post seemed to understand that!

Old Series Land Rovers aren't exactly scarce, so again, I'm sorry if it wasn't blatantly obvious that just any old Land Rover wasn't suitable!

Certainly you can't fail to win a prize for immaturity anyway!

Won't be winning any prizes for spelling though!

You know, I started typing an eloquent, considered response without feeling the urge to use bold type on account of it really being no more polite than using upper case, but I'll restrict myself to a simple '**** off'.

Perhaps if you have such a dim view of forums and don't usually 'bother' to post in them then stick to your guns and don't.

You won't be missed. ;)

I suppose a Series III in 'Aston Martin Purple' with a Scottish flag painted on the roof int good enuff either?? Cos thas is Lanarkshire..

Ah, that ol' original Rover paint job. Bet he'll jump at the chance.

If he wer any good wi 'photoshop' it wud'nt matter wot fookin colour it was or wot type windows it had.. I mean ffs! They used Mondo's keeeeebab van for tha 'men wi guns' photo shoot the other day.
