my 25 yr old landy 's fuel pump gave up, new one doesn't work - ok manually but doesnt seem to engage with the cam. tried refitting 5 times now with different engine positions and getting bored as still not pumping off the cam.
lining up both old and new pumps there is a few mm difference between reach of cams - so I assume this is the problem - however supplier says there is definately only one type of fuel pump for a series III 2.25 engine
any thoughts out there? are tehre any variants on fuelpumps? old one isn a cheap copy which cannot be serviced, thanks
