Hi All
I recently purchased a series III 109 Land rover. I am awaiting its registration papers as I bought the vehicle without any and had to apply for the documents through the South African road system(traffic Department). This takes ages usually as I have been informed and I have no proof of the vehicles year model, but would like to determine this if possible in the mean time.
I have had a look at a Hayens restoration manual and the it describes that it is possible to find the model through the chassis number and the chassis number describes the number being 8 digits, further it explains that if it has a VIN number it could be anything after 1980's.
The VIN number on my landy is 9 digits and I am unable to work out exact date of the model as the numbers do not relate to those described in the book.
could anyone explain if possible how to determine the year model of the vehicle?
