Series II - no working brake lights

My brake lights don,t come on. Bulbs are fine. Where do I start looking?

bullet connectors in the back, they rust, pull them apart and check..
local earths,
fuses.
switch, (as mentioned) maybe take the two wires off the switch and link together, see if the lights work, that should prove the switch.

I had the same problem took a new live from the fuse box to the switch now they work fine
