Just bought 1961 series 11 swb and a series 3 swb for spares. Series 11 in pretty good nick but want to fit overdrive gearbox and freewheel hubs from series 3 to it. How much of a job will this be?
Cheers Guys

The Ser III gearbox will not bolt onto the Ser II, but you can swap the overdrive itself.
What year Ser III? The hubs were the same up to the late '70s

Series 3 is a s reg 1978 with only 50,000 done been parked up for 3 yrs put a battery on her and up she went. Could i change engine and box or would this be a mistake as series 2 is not 2a but 1961 august series2 bettter keep original?

overdrive should be no bother ,take black plate off (previous photo) undo nut, remove cog ,fit odrive cog ,allways use new lock washer, fit new washer and nut ,do up tight to correct torque, gasket ,then odrive ,all done no bother,,,howzat,,,,,now comes the tricky bit,fit bracket on top of t,box ,buy hook or buy crook cut hole in side of p,shaft tunnel and fit lever and linkage ,this is the worst job and is A,P,I,T,A,but take your time ,persevere and all will be well, you will find odrive makes a HELL of a difference,,,,all the best ,,,dave

IM almost sure siii engine and box will swap with a sii,,cos i have siii diesel engine + siia gearbox in my siii,it fits no bother, props are right length ect,it was in when we bought it,the motor needs a new chassis now we"ve got that + another siii for spares with really good 5 bearing engine and box which is going in when we get a chance,,,,dave
