Series brakes 'trying to bleed'

hey
i know there is possible millions of threads on bleeding series brakes but i haven't got time to read them all

i have tried clamping the wheel cylinders to stop them moving to aid bleeding and i have try ed jacking the front 4 ft of the ground but still nothing

if i pump the pedal twice i get a good pedal and it will stop dead on and it will hold the pressure so it cant have a leak.

it has had all new wheel cylinders all round and new master one

are the cylinders all standard?......if your wheel cylinders are larger the master wont have enough volume to put enough pressure on in one push

Another possibility is the brake hoses....they can 'balloon' if they are old or poor quality.....esp if they've been stretched

i am using all standard wheel cylinders and i will check the brake pads

Are the shoe springs in the right place ?

I would use an Easy Bleed. I had the same issue with my clutch, wouldn't bleed manually (i tried quickly before connecting an Easy Bleed to see if I could save the bother). Easy bleed worked perfectly.

I had the same problem, did the easy bleed and it still was a double push on the pedal...try adjusting up all the shoes it worked for me

With my old 109 used to connect bleed nipple with clear pipe to a jar, open it and wait until fluid free of air could be seen in pipe.Took a while but you could do the job on your own with no pumping just keep the pot topped up[also works for my 90].

me old trick was back bleeding by cutting the little end off the pipe on a hydraulig oil can filling it with brake fluid then pumping it all backwards through the system from the bleed nipple on the brake drum works a treat evry time
