Hi all, new to the forum and new to Landy owning. just bought an S3 88" (1978) and am on the lookout for a new rear tub. The guy I bought it from has cut out a big section of the panel behind the drivers seat to move the seat back. I'd like to get this Landy back to looking its best if I can and would also like to fit rear benches.
As I'm new to owning an LR I'm not sure what would work, so would a series 2/2a tub fit an S3, is it possible to replace just the front panel (behind seat) of the tub, or is it as I thought, a new tub?
I've included a couple of pics to show what I mean and sorry for all the questions :)

Hi rat67 and welcome! You will need to be able to fabricate and weld Aluminium to do a proper job. I had to remove and replace a large section of my bulkhead during its restoration! If the answer is no and you don't know someone competent then I'm afraid its a new tub! Looks like the guy went a bit mental with thecchequered plate lol. Good luck. Regards. Chris

Thanks for the welcome guys. :D Damn checkerplate! it's EVERYWHERE!! I'm thinking of bolting a big piece of steel retaining bar across the back of the driver's seat then bolting some ally sheet in to cover the hole for the time being. (there's even checkerplate wrapped around the bumper bars, I'm scared of looking in the engine bay in case thats been plated too) Hopefully I can find a tub in resonable condition. Hate it when landy's get ruined like this
