Series 3- Manifold Thingy.....

Can anyone help with an issue I have with a non return valve on a 1983 SWB Series 3 2.25 diesel... The valve sites under the intake manifold and a pipe then runs from here across to the brake servo....and currently it's not doing what it should ,.. I'm convinced it's broken, but cannot get the part anywhere in the country as it keeps coming up as obsolete. (part no. C37474 just to bore you to tears...) Can anyone help or enlighten me as to what it does/is or does anyone have one?????

if you got a doosul you should have a vaccccuuummmm pump , are you sure its connected to yer manifold?

Hmm, no vacuum pump, just a valve that leads via a pipe to the Servo with a 'T' joint off the vacuum reservoir...(that seems useless...). I've been told that you can add a belt driven pump from a Peugeot?...either that or take steroids for my right leg......

sounds like a bodge up, ave got genuin landy service books from way back then and all the doosuls with servo have a pump.

I think it is a bodge, no pressure for the servo whatsoever.....what are your thoughts on the below piece of kit?

The Series LandRover Diesels do not provide a good source of vacuum to operate a brake servo. The LandRover parts to solve this consisted of a vacuum reservoir and special valve in the intake manifold. Most modern diesels have special vacuum pumps to provide the depression needed.
