Series 3 lightweight- value?

Hi all, I am new here and just wanted a bit of advice if possible? Apologies if this sort of question is not the done thing?!
I have a series 3 lightweight land rover which is tax exempt. It has a 300tdi engine and snorkel but has just run out of MOT. It has had a new gear box but jumps out of second.
It's not pretty but would tidy up pretty easily and runs well. I don't have the funds to restore it and would like to sell it on ebay.
Realistically what reserve do you think I should be putting on it? I'm not really sure of the value so if anyone could give me a rough idea I would be grateful.

without MOT, £100 - £300.
with MOT, £500 - £1500 depending on condition etc.

Are you sure its a 300tdi, not a 200tdi.
Very interesting if it is I'm in the process of fitting a 300tdi to my series, any chance of a couple of engine bay photos?.
How well does the old girl drive?, should go well with the 300, however the 300tdi does have too much torque for the series box as does the 200tdi with the turbo, which could be why your having trouble with second, or it could just be a worn 'box.

Theres a well used manky looking series 1 200tdi on ebay at the mo with a bid of £1500 on it.
