Series 3 Handbrake lever tooth

Hi, I've just bought a 1981 SWB Series 3 Defender which had been off the road for about a year. As expected, the MOT wasn't exactly plain sailing but most annoyingly on the list of failures is a new handbrake lever tooth.

The mechanic has been in touch with Landrover but they weren't able to shed any light on how to get hold of one as they no longer hold any in stock.

I was wondering if anyone has this part and would be willing to sell me one, or give me some suggestions of websites or inidividuals who might have one?

just get the file out

If you cant get new one then you could take the whole assy to a jobber type engineering shop, or a fabricators that kind of thing can be fettled.

Are you sure it's broken and not just jammed in or that it's not another part that broken
Strip it and check everything
Might just need cleaning

Google the part number - there's a few suppliers might have one.
50235 is the single tooth pawl, 543546 is the multi toothed ratchet bit.
