I've replaced the clutch slave cylinder the other week, but it now it sticking in 1st gear. If I pull or move forward it comes out with a fight ,help :welcome2:

Sorry for being a little slow but does that mean i need to remove the slave, not sure you see. but thanks for the help

Heres a crappy test.
With the engine started, put the red 2wd/4wd lever in the middle neutral position, then press the clutch and engage first, see if it'll go in and out easily, and listen for the gears in the box whizzing round with the clutch pedal down, whilst in first.
If it'll go in and out fairly easy then it looks like a clutch issue, if it still grabs then maybe a synchro or baulk issue.

Hi that was quick

With the engine started, with the red 2wd/4wd lever in the middle neutral position, with the clutch pedal to the foor, Yes first will go in and out easily.

listenend to the gears in the box with the clutch pedal down, whilst in first. No noise but with the pedal up the box is very noisey

So it's a clutch issue yes, what to do

time to adjust the slave cylinder actuating rod then....

it would appear your clutchplate is "dragging", not releasing correctly

I've checked the actuating rod and it's currently adjusted to the max, so this could be applying pussure to the clutchplate all the time yes :( not releasing correctly as you mentioned.

So how much thread should be visable on the end of the actuation rod, this will give me a starting point  as it many have been over compensated for by the last owner

Oh dear  I've adjusted the rod to allow more free play and this has made no difference it still loves holding on to 1st, but it works fine in low range you can pop it into 1st & out again no problem

Beats me that one then, the high and low range is a seperate box and I dont think it'd make a difference, unless maybe its the load on the box being less is low range.
It does sound like a box issue.
You said that the gearbox was quiet with the clutch pedal down and noisy with it up with the transfer box in neutral, well that suggests that the clutch is working fine, as it was probably disengaging and stopping the box from rotating making it quiet.
Speaking of which if its really noisy then maybe something is fecked, worn synchro rings possibly.
I've never had a landy box apart, similar ones but not the landy, I'm sure someone will be along in aminute that has.

let's get one little thing cleared up here ...
i'm going to guess that before the original clutch slave cylinder failed you could change gear quite happily ??

if so then i very much doubt there is anything wrong with the gearbox...

now there's only clutch adjustment and correctly bleeding the system to be done...

if you're adjustment has been fiddled to death in the attempt to get in and out of first gear then you're down to rebleeding the system to completely remove the air that is probably still trapped in it...

in my understanding you'll get in and out of first gear whilst in low range easier because there'll be less tension on the gears whilst in low range...

p.s.
i don't think "any" Series box has a synchro on first gear (i may be mistaken)

hope this helps
