Hi Guys, no doubt out there, is a keen Land Rover wiring knowledgeable person. Having looked at a number of Electrical schematic about and in the LR manual, year = 1982/3, with some x migration from the Lightweight LR schematic - its with some ill-logic how stuff is wired. So, the Engines runs, charge circuit fine, Rear lights work (expect Rev', see below).
Having not stripped this Rebuild... Issues are: 1 - with Indicator 'flash cans' - looks 2 items fitted a 2pin can and a 3pin can.
2 - some wiring arrangements all housed within the centre 'V' shaped console panel - with: Servo failure, Dual Brake failure (on chassis) switch conn's, a bank of wiring to Warning Brake lamp, 4 x way hazard switch - wiring Looms/plugs that seem to reach, I suspect a few extra cables are needed, have a 'Failure Loom' from Auto-Sparks - another from Craddock's neither seem to marry up...!
3 - apparently had a Reversing Lamp on the rear but never worked - discovered no REV switched fitted so effecting its fix as wiring loom has its cable line within it so to run a fresh line via fuse box/Rev switch.
Any pointers most welcomed, thank you in anticipation, Skip

Series don't have a reverse switch, or lights, as standard.

Late Series 3 had extra stuff in the centre, fog lamps, hazards, depending on market.

These hazards had a separate flash relay in addition to the standard.

What's your query?

Hi Wildefalcon
Cheers, I've driven LR's in the mob a lot but never had to rebuild any....
It seems this was a very late model in late 1983 and had some extras...
Has Fog - Fnt/Rr en extras you mentioned and maybe an trailer power line...!
Worked out the Rev' Lamp circuit, just need to add a feed/return to fuse.
Picked-up this rebuild - mostly in the dark.... So a schematic/ circuit diagram would be a great help. Cheers

Never found one for the late stuff, so I normally just work it through. The wiring diagram for the civvy stuff doesn't even include the heater.

Hi Guys - thanks Mik87 - shall pour over during the weekend, appreciate your pointer.

Thanks Wildefalcon - yep, you're so right on that point, it could be the same said about a lot of stuff on a LR's, not least some mechanical parts. small steps, eh... much obliged all, Skip

Hi again Skip, Not sure, but I recon the late series 3 wiring has more in common with the early 90 than previous pre 1980 models. May be worth a check.
Not unusual with Land Rover of old to find a next model change already on previous models built late in the run. A mate had a 2a with a series 3 box from new. Also works the other way some very early 90's still had the two and a quarter petrol like series before they went 2.5.

Yes, I will give it a shot in the 90 direction, a good tip, - one way for LR to use up existing stocked parts. See a lot in VW models, more-so now with all its acquisition... seat, skoda to name a few. Many thanks guys - that's what forums are for eh, mitigation of knowledge, thanks again, Skip
