Hi all can anyone help im scratching my head:
I just put in a 200tdi in replacement for a 2 1/4 diesel lump that blew up. Before I did this, the clutch was working 100%. I inspected clutch plate when I took it out and it was in fine condition.
Having bolted everything up the engine runs fine but the clutch is always engaged. you can drive up to about second gear and after that all you get is a smell of burning clutch. Also the clutch pedal feels much 'springier'.
The only part I changed was the clutch release bearing and mounting, which I used from the '93 disco, but by all accounts, these are the same part. Aswell the disco flywheel was in good knick, had never been cooked or so.
If anyone can point me in the right direction I would be very grateful.
