series 3 bulkhead

does anybody know could i fit a defender bulkhead to a 1981 88'' series 3 without to much difficulty? should be easier to find in a scrappy than a series 3 item.cheers

It is possible to swap the two, but it is a complete ball ache to do. You will have to completely remodel the top rail, transmission tunnel and chassis mounting points. It really isn't worth it. It is a far better idea to try and find a good SIII bulkhead

yes, the whole vehicle was for sale at £150 at a local scrap yard, the bulkhead engine and axles were all that were useable though, everything else was buggered.

There is also a local vehicle recyclers that has them in occasionally, hes sell good ones for £125

Only downside is you have to remove them from the vehicle yerself.

was it in as good a condition as this ?

Can't tell just by looking at the photo, but they had no holes anywhere, one had a slight ding just under the top door hinge, and they could all have done with repainting.

But none of that is really relevant, a defender bulkhead will cost about the same, then you have to chop the thing to bits to fit it.

The best place to try is trent auto's in Bournemouth.

Although that aint much use if you live in scotland I will admit.
