Hi Folks, i should really come here more often, would make life so much easier
So, my issue;
When conering especially at low speeds, I get a single clunk ( sounds like two metallic objects striking.) I am increasingly drawn to it being a suspension bushing issue, looking closer today, it would seem as though ( hope I get the terming correct) the shackle Bush, is allowing the spring to slide across the top of it, on at least the nearside front. I assume that this is not correct. Replacing the bushes isn't a huge concern, but if the spring is sliding over the Bush now, am I going to find a new Bush will do the same thing? As I imagine there will be wear on both the spring inner and Bush outer? Any advice would be welcomed.

I had a cornering clunk on my SIII when I first had it, my clunk was at the back. In that case the bolts through the shackle hadn't been tightened properly. That meant that it was sliding side to side and had no chance of doing its job properly. Have a read of the manual about setting the ride height if this is the case on yours.

Are you sure the spring is sliding on the bush outer? Usually the rubber starts to break up and the movement is between the inner bush and outer bush.
