Hey everyone,
Just rebuilt my engine with a few mods: Weber 32/34 DMTL (rejetted to 2.25) and 2.5l cam, points replaced with electronic system and 2" stainless exhaust.
Once going it runs quite well if loud, but when your trying to pull away you have to rev the nuts off of it to stop it from stalling, Its running advanced on the timing right now as it runs best like that and aparently thats the electronic ignition needing to be advanced slightly too.
Any ideas anyone?
Cheers :)

Retarted ignition timing can cause a similar problem, if the timing is good then if the engine pulls then dies a weak mixture is suspected, if the engine just dies then either very weak or rich mixture could be happening, check the plugs, glazed white insulators is usually weak, black powder coated is rich.
I'm not well up on that particular carb, if the carby isnt for that particular engine the emulsion tube might be incorrect or one time I had trouble with a carb mount, vibration from the engine turns the petty in the float chamber to shaving foam, also might be worth checking the throttle pump assy, webers have been known for these to screw up.
One of the chaps here might know the correct setup for that carb.
Maybe you could temporarily try the old dizzy so you know the ignition is good, as it sounds like you dont know if its fuel or ignition at the minute.
