does the thick UW meter out to the driver side if so connect this to the thin UW
Yes it goes from drivers to passenger in an arc, is joined in connector to the B Both ends just taped up going no where at the moment.
Should I join to thin UW on Drivers side then same again at Passenger to B

Assuming passenger side is the loom with UR UW U which would have gone to floor switch you did not use the UW then just wondering why
The feed to the column switch Black is fed straight from terminal 8 light switch correct
Yes Black goes to number 8 on light switch. Tried joining the B/Ws together but Still the same,
Checked and Double Checked all connections and all correct but Still the same.

I would simply wire a link from the driver side head lamp to the passengers and feed the cable that went to the floor switch in to the dash
what cables did you join the black on the head cable to the white on the head light cable or are you referring to the cables on the column switch

Well its working as it should but not sure if I have done the right thing.
So I tried joining the thick UW to the thin UW on driver side and the thick UW to the U on passenger, still the same,
tried swapping the yellow earth on H4 for black but no change.
What I did was this. the UW that connects to Yellow on column switch with a link wire to one of the two Black/red for the flash circuit and another wire to the main beam warning lamp AND the UR that connects to white on column switch
I Swapped these over so now UR connects to Yellow column switch and the UW connects to White column switch but still connects to one of the two Black/red and the wire to the main beam warning lamp
Hope you get what I mean by all that .
Now I have stalk moved forward to dash Dipped beam. stalk toward you Main beam. and stialk flicked towards you Flashes as it should with lights on or off.
Now I am thinking should I of just left those above in place swapped the UR with the UW at the H4 Connector ?
Have not taped anything up yet so will be easy to swap over again.

I was looking at connection diagram will check later but it's seems strange the stalk in my opinion should be main beam , dipped beam flash because if dipped was first position then main beam why would you need flash as you would go from
dipped to main beam in affect flash .

opened up old H4 lamp and the image shows the connections I'm assuming the shroud filament is dipped and the other filament main beam

The last diagram is how I intend to connect mine so main beam on when stalk full forward when pulled toward you dipped beam and flick toward you flash
cannot see the point of having flash if you have to pass through main beam on the way to flash

Now i could be wrong here with mine as on my own when testing trying to work it out on the reflection on car in front of it. Will wait until someone comes up to verify what lights are actually doing, but Yes would rather have mine your way but can't get the bloody flash to work on mine with lights on unlessi leave it as it is noe. Need to have another good look tonight to figure out why

Right I now have it Same as you are doing main beam on when stalk full forward when pulled toward you dipped beam and flick toward you flash
Was confusing trying to guess by reflection as on my own, but found out the passenger headlight was wired wrong when it was on high beam the drivers would be on dip.
Anyway got them both right now but still like this, UR connects to Yellow column switch and the UW connects to White column switch but still connects to one of the two Black/red and the wire to the main beam warning lamp
can I leave like this ?

If it works great have you sorted out the tail lights yet and indicators
Thanks You. will get these tidied and taped up,
This is what runs through chassis to rear. R/B R/Y G/R G/W G/P I know what each wire is for from your previous help.

Drivers side First Pic, With Test wires and bulb I can get indicator and sidelight to work, the side light only works off one of the R/Bs there is two, and also two G/Ps

Passenger side. Second Pic. Did have side light working once but went off and has not worked again. no indicator working.
Not tried G/P yet as not got brake switch fitted yet.

I joined these from bulkhead to chassis couple of weeks ago, think my first job is to check the connections to see if any have come loose.

Found old image of R A F Ambulance have not finished tidying it up yet the black wires shown are of natural whatever that colour is back to wiring the red on the driver side should be connected to the red black at rear that works tail lamps and the the second you need to trace if only to make safe when joining the wire don't be temped to use through crimps use a male female connector this allows you to spilt and trace any faults you may encounter at a later date such as now

Which Red on drivers side? There is no reds coming out at rear.

you had two reds on the driver wing for the front side lights that's if the red /black reaches or exit there ,if they go into the dash it just a matter of connecting the red/back to the lighting switch terminal 4

Yes that was already done and only got the 2 fronts and drivers side rear to work. Bit of progress now though, there was 2 R/Bs at drivers rear and only 1 at passenger, when I joined these 2 together at drivers rear I finally got passenger to light.
Now I have all 4 Side lights at each corner .:)
Indicators I have working All except Passenger Rear. Checking wire back but can't find any breaks or damage yet.
