Series 2a Station Wagon (sale possible)

We've had this Land Rover for around 15 years and it was always a good runner however it has remained un-started for around 6 years now and the clutch no longer depresses and the brake doesn't work.
I was really wondering if anyone could tell me much about this vehicle such as its rarity, I haven't come across very many like this at all. Its a series 2a Station Wagon (short wheelbase) and has a safari roof, unfortunately whilst being stored in a barn a bale fell on the roof and has bent some of the paneling. The vehicle also had a new half chassis fitted 15 years ago (done professionally). The fuel tank has a small hole. Overall a majority of the vehicle is solid, it comes with a spare wheel and rig to allow it to be attached across the back door.
There is some flaking of the paint which reveals a yellow coat of paint on some of the panels, is this a primer coating?

I welcome any offers for the vehicle, baring in mind the numberplate '631 KX' was valued at £1100 a while back.

Sorry it won't link to the details on the vehicle but if you enter ' 631 KX ' in the number plate section you should be able to find it

Regards the registration value the vehicle needs to have an MOT to transfer the number from it.

Realistacally it is a project and would go for project money, there are many on ebay for a few hundred pounds needing work.

I don't think it will make you rich!

Thanks for your opinion on this, I understand it would need an MOT to enable it to be transferred and initially I was thinking of restoring it myself but I don't really have the time to be able to do it just yet

I reckon in its present condition....£750 but may attract more money on Ebay but keep in mind their fees.

why have we gone from series 2 to a rifle gallery ??

It's a rust heap FFS only thing of any value (about £500) is the reg number and the landy has to be taxed and mot'd before that can be transferred.

Nice, I'd be delighted to find it in my barn, if I had a barn.
Must've been real posh in it's day with all the snazzy upholstery, but I didn't see anything rare about it.

i don't see the registration as having any value unless you can think of someone with a surname beginning with X :lol:

I do not see anything rare about it but it does look to be an early station wagon, the guys over on the series 2 club would know more. I would guess that eBay would be your best bet some where in the region of 500-750 price wise. As the guys have said you will ned an mot if you were to remove and sell the number plates but then you would loose the originality from the vehicle!

I'm more interested in the rifles or the tractor!! I do hope they are de commissioned young man!

as it stands its worth scrap price, about 150 quid a ton.
unless you can find someone that wants to take it on as a project, the only worth i can see in it is the overdrive, and thats a gamble if it dont move.
would be a shame to scrap of brake it, but depends on how much you actually want / expect for it.
would be interested in comin over for a poke around it, if that options available?

A very admirable landy If I were a bit more minted at moment, I'd give you £750 for it.
