Hi guys!
i just wanted to let you all know another old leafer is back on the highway and in daily service!

i have had some help on here in the past and wished to thank everybody who has offered advice.

Just a few little questions id like to ask...

I have fitted some 235/85/R16 wheels and tyres, can anybody suggest what pressure i should be using??

Also, i have an overdrive fitted (this might not be important) but when i get going, with the wind behind me and get to 50mph, if i let off the throttle there is a grinding noise on overun coming from the drivetrain somewhere, is this fairly normal or has anybody got some advice??

Also, i have free wheeling hubs but the o/s doesnt want to do anything. It is the typoe with a nut which needs a socket or a spanner to select free or fixed. It seems half way between the two. I only know id doesnt have 4x4 as when i selected low box to try and reverse up a steep wet incline the rear wheel was spinning and didnt seem to be any effort from the front.. Any suggestions as to how to strat investigatin this?

Oh, and one last thing, its not a question, but i hope you guys find it funny. I think something has cralwed / nested between my bulkhead and the engine and dies, the car stinks of dead things, badly! its worse when the engine gets hot too!!
seriously, its alli can smell, its stained my nostrels!!

Thanks in advacne

When was the oil done ? might just be a simple problem like a low oil level

Free wheeling hubs I'd get someone with an airgun to shift it back and forth a couple of times to free the nut up

As to the dead thing have a root round the engine bay, or maybe even resting in the exhaust crossmember ?

Thanks for that!
i will check the crossmemeber.. the smell really isnt funny... well, it is, but not to my poor nose!

The freewheeling hubs do move, the "nut" does move but doesnt seem to go all the way to either fixed or free, do you think a bit ofbrute force is the answer??? the other side moves from fixed to free with a nice smooth motion and a little solid clunk when it reaches the end of travel, where as this one is just vague and doesnt go all the way in either direction..

I will try changing the ep90 this week.
apart from that, its fun!
it certainly isnt my p38... but its fun!

id remove free wheeling hubs and go back to std ,its not normal to get grinding noise on overun ,generally noise on overrun is classic diff pinion bearing symptom but generally whine ,you could try removing one prop at a time and test running in 4wd to narrow down but you cant yet, check all shafts flanges etc for play and rotational smoothness by hand will require wheel/wheels jacked up to check ,as could be diffs ,gearbox transferbox or overdrive ,
