Hi, Im in the market for a series 2 and just wondering if they have heaters built in and also how to put mud flaps onto them, as a defender has mounting brackets, im wanting the new Britpart mud flaps but they don't say anything about series and the exhaust is on the opposite side.

hi, yes series 2's have a lovely top of the range smiths heater, with the controll knob just handy ( in the engine bay)
ter be honest yer better of with a candle in the footwell and when it gets really cold yer could always light it to keep warm !

never used the heater in my series2, or 90, yer dunt need it ;)

secondly pm buster see if he still has the flaps fer sale, new genuine LR series parts, yer'l have to be quick or il have them fer mine :)

not on a series mate ! check if it has a new ish , 45a ACR alternator that has replaced the dynamo, on those old lucas jobs yer lucky to get enough power to use the main beam not to mention an aux heater ! alternator power is ok , yer better off with a better quality heater / cooler tho, not a £9.99 thing

yup, try not to use brit part unless yer really have to, some stuff great and some stuffs ****e yer pay yer money and take yer chance ;)

yer can get a replacement matrix from Clayton Heaters, google them

in the brtipart magazine there is a heater Matrix for the series 3 ???

thats fer the heater box in the engine bay, ser3

the ser2a dunt have one in the bay its bolted to the bulkhead inside the cab usualy, unless its been changed fer somethin posh

Waitin for the money to come through, my grandad use to have a serier2,3, defender and a disco and was allways workin on em, so he will help me do the work needed, the 1 im gettin has had a new chassis,New shockers

wot do u reckon to that, is it a good buy or a bad buy for just under £2000

I used to own a sii with a smiths heater B useless for boss n the little fella in the back so i made a y piece and put mini heater behind the bulkhead kept em both nice n warm it was even better for me n dog in the front cos them smiths heaters r crap.HAVE A LOOK IN THE SCRAPPY FOR AN OLD MINI N ROB THE HEATER. PIPES N WIRES AND YOUR COOKIN MATE. BEST O LUCK BUDDY

Siii heater might fit + all the pipework ect some they is crap but mines ok takes a bit to warm tho but when bin workin its sound must be cos the missus is a cold arse! Hang on youll have to cut the bulkhead tho cos the heaters in the engine bay. Phew me fingers sore 1 finger typing seee
