i'll guess the chicken wire is to foil the kamikaze sparrows/budgies etc' from destroying your radiator

quite possible, or more commonly over here to stop all the scrub from bushbashing damaging the radiator.

Okay well its been bloody hot lately (35+ degrees C) so progress has paused a bit , but been putting in a bit of time of the afternoons. We have:
- Replaced both safari roof rubbers (turns out thats not a job for the faint hearted)
- Removed tacky stickers that where on the back
- Removed the front grill, radiator and exhaust manifold.
One annoying thing about this particular car is that because theres been a few aftermarket parts around the vehicle, theres no one spanner fitting, theres some witworth, some metric and some imperial fittings all around the place, but other than that we are loving it :D. like i said progress has been slow but once we clear some space in the shed, things should speed up.

Finally got the car into the shed! had to move a lot of stuff but got it in there eventually. Okay so stripping down of the engine bay is going well and getting very close to removing the engine... Just one question for those with experience on the 2.6 6 cylinder; is this engine one thats needs to be overhauled and reconditioned by experts or can we do it ourselves? we arnt mechanics but have a pretty good idea of what we are doing and have pulled down other motors but have no experience with the 2.6. So would we be best to take it of to some experts or not? Thanks
