hi,
just wondering if i can raise my series 2 by adjusting the leaf springs or whether it would be a case of replacing them for different one's? i have seen other series land rovers with the leaf springs but the ride hight is alot greater! if so how do i do it?
also the clutch has nearly gone on it is there a way of adjusting the clutch without changing it for now?
cheers
fred :D

You coud do alot worse that replacing the springs with new ones and grease them up loads (messy job but worth it) mabe fit some 1 tone shackles but reckon you should do new springs first. If they are original they are most likley well past it and rusted together and not performing well as a spring.

Clutch somone will be along but I would guess if it needs changing just change it. Jai

Make sure that replacement springs are made with British 'Corus' steel. Unfortunately Chinese ones sag rather quickly.

As for clutch. Make sure that you have the push rod (goes from clutch release piviot to slave cylinder) adjusted correctly. Also check that there is no or little wear in the clutch release pivot itself. Both of these are 'use up' some of the clutch pedal movement before the actual clutch starts to move.....

.....unless of course it is slipping, in which case it is new clutch time :)

my series has parabolics and what looks like extended shackles. definately looks higher. and is running on 750's

Looks like somone has cut it down to the chassis rails and then plated over it oversize I dunno, how does the rear tub mount is it behind the plate?? I dunno Jai
