hi guys

just picked up a series 2a and have a few questions

-can i buy blank fronts for the wings
-anyone know the colour codes for the dark and light green and the light blue?

If i remember correctly lights moved into the wings in 1968 with the series 2a model this then became the norm for the later series 3.

if it's a 2a then the h/lamps will be in the wings and the grille/ radiator panel will have no headlamp bowls and a full metal mesh grille.

that's a rather confusing answer ^^

2a's up to i think 1969 had thier headlamps in the radiator panel ('66 definitely did)

new flat fronts for the wings might still be available but they're damned expensive from what i've heard/read which doesn't surprise me due to the folds/curves in them, YRM might be able to supply them but i'm not sure

you will find the light spread isn't as good when you put the lights back in the rad' panel so you might want to invest in a pair of H4 units to compensate (i use H4s in my rad' panel)

Far as I know, the front panels are no longer available. There are some complete wings(top, front and inner) NOS around - blanchards have some, there are probably others.

What front panel is on it? If its a s3 you can't just fit headlamps to it as its different from the s2a (no holes for the headlamp bowls)
As for making the front part of the wing all I've done in the past is keep the s3 one in place and cut a piece of aluminium to shape, cut out the holes for the sidelights/indicators and fix it over the top as neat as possible, you only need to bend the top bit then to fit the curve at the top of the wing. ;)

looks to be a series 2a front panel,i have tried yrm and they dont have them, thanks for the idea jon ill give it a go when it arrives
