Hello everyone
havent been on here in ages as its taken me err almost 2 years to resurrect the old series 2a.Finally though, back on the road. But I have a peculiar clutch issue, wonder if anyone can tell me whats wrong. This problem existed when I stopped using the old girl back in 2007. Basically, when you change up or down, takes literally a second or two for the clutch to take up - if you drop the clutch and apply revs it would literally rev freely for a few moments as the clutch takes up. I replaced the cover, disc, bearing and also the hydraulic slave, but it still does it. If you change gear and wait patiently without touching the throttle, it slides in fully and away you go. Just been on a 30 mile round trip and no different now home than when we left. Any ideas ? Thanks in advance, Tim

Hi, i have had this before and it turned out to be the flexy pipe had gone soft and bits of rubber had bloked the pipe

I had a similar problem to what you've described when I first bought my 2a. It turned out to be the clutch release bearing being sticky on the shaft after being stood for a few months, so you might want to just check that.
Hope this helps

thanks guys really appreciated. Cant be the release bearing, its a new one and besides I swapped in a s111 box and overdrive with all new clutch and release brng. Problem was there before I did all that. Master is a shared brake and clutch and havent altered anything there but maybe a good point all the same. Going to start off looking at the flexi pipe, didnt replace that. Anyway thanks again. Was lovely to drive the old girl again after 4 years off. If I can get this sorted I will be out and about as regular as clockwork !
