Hello,
I'm thinking of fitting a Webber carb to my 2L 1955 series 1 86"
Anyone done it?
Any thoughts?

Thanks.

Had one of these on mine for years. Accelleration is improved. Get around 25mpg on a long run with it, (with overdrive), so pretty good. Eventually I had probs with stalling and wouldnt restart when hot, so I replaced it with a brand new one of the same off Fleabay. Later I found that the rubber accel pump membrane had perished on the old one.

You may need to modify the throttle linkage slightly to get a low tickover speed as part of it can foul on the inlet manifold, but not difficult to sort.

They have some very small jets which can block quite easily, so you need an in line fuel filter. Some people say they flood easier with heavy off road use, but I have never had a prob with this (prob again due to dirt in the fuel).

OK Mine has just arrived. It is a single carb marked up '34'.

Is thsi ok or is the twin better.

I read that the solex carb fitted is 24mm choke.

Thanks for the reply Worf. Will fit one but still not sure which which to go for.
Single choke 34mm or the one advertised which is a twin 28/36
