Thought I'd best introduce myself as I've made the odd post on here recently after lurking for a long time.

My trusted P38 has reached that age where it's developing it's own "personality", which is quite disconcerting for a computer engineer like me who's knowledge of automobiles amounts to:

  • how to drive one
  • where the fuel goes
  • how to phone the AA when experiencing problems with one of the above.
I generally take my car in to the garage any time it makes an unusual noise, smell, or action. Consequently I've progressed from first name terms with my local indy, to the point I don't even have to say who I am when I call :D

I thought I'd use this forum to bluff some knowledge about what happens when I turn the key-thing, but when I called saying "yeah, looks like the in-tank fuel sender again", the response was "yeah, yeah... I'll be the judge of that, just bring it in and hurry up with my website updates".

So anyway, hello. Being a computer geek, I don't have anything that resembles a functioning social personality, but my experience of this forum suggests I ought to fit in just fine ;)
