I have ordered a crack detection kit to check the injector pocket in the head. If I see a crack then I will assume the injector is ok. If I don't see one then I will get another injector.

they won’t overhaul yours they have recon units on the shelf, coded and ready to go. It’s not cheap but they are good and quick
It's a big plus to have them coded, but I checked my cylinder balance with nanocom when I put mine back and they were pretty decent, I am looking to try and get an old one cheap to have a go at stripping one down, might be interesting.

The coding doesnt affect the cylinder balance which is relevant only at idle, it comes into play at around 3000 rpm under load so only there the engine will not behave 100% as it should or it will simply not rev much above 3000 if the coding is not OK

Hello Brian

To add to the confusion (!), Ribble Valley Diesels have been mentioned here before, but not in this thread. Looking at their web site, /www.ribblevalleydiesels.co.uk/, they may be a bit expensive, but another option perhaps. I've no personal experience so I can't give a recommendation, or not.

Good luck.
