Why oh why does it do this? When I park it here on a slope, when I come back, it's jacked the low end up and I can't lift stuff into the boot :doh:

In my opinion, the designer of this was an idiot.
 
I have a related question.

What is the point of self leveling. I guess it doesn't do it when you are driving? So why would we care that the car is level when parked?

It does self-level on the move. Since the regs on headlights changed, any car must either self-level or have an adjuster on the headlights so that they can be altered dependent on load so as not to blind oncoming drivers. The only practical reason I can think of for self-elveling when stationary is passenger comfort, so they're not sitting at an angle??

If it didn't self level when parked, a very small airleak could mean the car being at a crazy angle if one corner went down all the way. The car changes height on the move down to motorway height, so it follows it must also self level on the move. I believe there is also an element of anti dive under braking.
