Hi all, I have yet another question about my air suspension. Firstly I parked the Disco on the curb outside the house on Wednesday night. It never moved again untill first thing Monday morning when i took the girls to school. I headed down the street and out onto the main road, all at around 15mph. Traffic was a nightmare so we proceeded about another mile at 10 - 15mph. At which point the SLS warning light came on in the clocks. All seemed ok and the handleing seemed normal. So at the next set of lights I switched off and restarted, light went out and stayed out the rest of the day. After I got home I again parked two wheels on the footpath outside the house. On switching the truck off and getting out I heard the compressor was still running. (Keys out car locked). It seemed to give a loud 'hiss' and drop about an inch or so. This continued for about 10 minutes, I kept checking and got fed up, took the truck a drive off about 3 miles at about 50-60mph, got home and the compressor was still going. After about another 10 minutes or so it stopped and all was well the rest of the day. The next day the same thing happened with the SLS warning light, again I switched it off and restarted it and out it went. This time there was no over run on the compressor. I set the suspension right up to the limit and marked the bags, Left it all day monday and there was no drop in either side. The two bags were replaced last year and the compressor was replaced at the start of this year. ( Before I owned the truck) Went to work this morning no lights on and no overrun on the compressor.

Sorry for the long winded question, I'm trying to give as much info as Possible.

remove and inspect ride height sensors very carfully for cracks in the plastic moulding, its very likely that they have cracked, water ingress is giving a false reading to the computer. if so change them: £25 each and 10 mins to fit... they are not 'Handed'

OK now I need urgent help please. Went out to the disco yesterday and I noticed it was sitting a little low at the back. So I went to the shop to take it a run, when I came back home she was still sitting at the same height. Tried the ORM button on the dash to see if it would rise up. The light came on the dash as if she was lifting but nothing was happening. The light stayed on as normal and I went another run and it then went out still no compressor on and no difference in the ride height.

Took a look at the fuses below the steering wheel all was well, so I had a look at the fuse box under the bonnet, One of the big square fuses (30 amp) was blown, swapped it over with another one and tried the ORM button again, no compressor on, no difference in ride height, and the fuse blew again.

Where do I go from here, how do I test the individual components in the system so as Im not replacing everything .........

Dont panic...

It's the compressor motor, worst case scenario is £300 for a new air unit and 20mins of your time to fit it. However, The car will hold up on it's suspension for a few days

Best case scenario... ask me in a couple of days!

Seems you were right m8, compressor is feked. Makes you wonder what Land Rover are at, there was a new compressor unit fitted 14 months ago ( Genuine Part ). Well no point in wallowing in it. Is there anything else would cause the compressor to over run. From what I have been told the compressor shouldn't keep running when the truck is switched off. Anyone else experience this?????
