Select neutral ? I'm puzzled need advice

Hi I keep having problems with the auto box on my 1998 4.6hse, the light on high range side of the auto gear selector all flash red, dash says select neutral and no mileage computer is displayed, car sometimes feels a bit shuddery when above 50mph, when I put fuse 11 in it says transfer neutral instantly with no noise made down in the gearbox, when fuse 11 is in the auto lights are green and no flashing, also get the mileage computer back, I'm baffled to the fault I'm thinking autoox ecu, ir neutral sensor? As it won't engage low range at all just get the gear symbol on dash then gOes put, any advice gratefully received.

does it actualy go in neutral or stick in high you should hear motor turn when selecting high/low,or neutral when fuse inserted,could be either motor on rear of t/box or ecu,

Goes in neutral no prOblem, no motor sound, I took motor our works on my bench ok just no when on vehicle, very frustrating lol

usually you can hear motor there are two parts to motor one is drive the other is the ecu knowing what position its in

Ah i see, where would the ecu be i seen one under the passenger seat, this one dosnt look burnt has the fins on it

Have you tryed puting the stick in the space between high and low and leave it there for a second or two
