Hi I have a 04 freelander td4 was in the process of changing my interior lights to led when I blew a fuse. Changed the fuse everything worked fine. Next day srs light came on my diagnostic machine came back with rh seatbelt pretensioner voltage to high. I know that the block under the seat can be temperamental I have unplugged it cleaned it and the code is still showing any one have any helpful advice thanks

From what I’ve looked at it can only be cleared with a code reader, Hawkeye or something like that? I’m new to freelanders but I had that problem too

Then the issue does not lie with the connectors under the seat but elsewhere in the circuit

Be careful using a multi meter on resistance setting on airbag circuits as you may experience a loud bang!

Here is a picture of the fault on my machine any help or tips appreciated

Has the pretensioner been used/fired? Does it look the same as the other one?

A high resistance suggests a bad connection or broken wire somewhere between the airbag control ECU and the belt tensioner itself. Put a 10 Ohm resistor across the harness side of the tensioner connector. Then clear the code again. If it stays cleared, then you've proved the harness up to the tensioner connector. ;)

Ok I a bit of an amateur at this is there any YouTube video links or how to guides out there and I will have a go thanks if there any other ideas anyone can think of that would be great.

Can he take the pretensioner oft and swap them over to see if the fault follows the tensioner? Not sure if the connectors are the same. No need to fit. Just connect up as a temporary test.

As far as I can see I have to take the seats out to swap the pretensioner but I am going to try this....
Take the battery connectors off leave for an hour clean the connectors with wd40 electrical connector check the cable for any problems then hook it all back up and try and clear the code with my diagnostic machine if this don't work gonna have to bite the bullet and get another tensioner 2nd hand of cause and not fired.
Any other help would be appreciated
